MPE: Multisensor Precipitation Estimator

The graphics shown in this section are Multisensor Precipitation Estimates, otherwise known as MPE data,  The multisensors involved at this time are radar and precipitation gages.  In the future, satellite estimates may also be incorporated.

Multisensor Precipitation Estimates are a combination of radar information and actual precipitation gage measurements. Automated data is blended with human-interactive quality control techniques for improved accuracy. "MPE" data can provide precipitation estimates in areas where there are no gages. Data is available hourly, in graphical format. The data is used for a wide range of applications.
