Flash Flood Guidance Maps

Operational County-based FFG Graphics
(The images can be seen in more detail by clicking on the images or their labels.) These products indicate the rainfall needed in the number of hours specified to begin flooding. They are usually available daily by 19Z or within an hour after CRWFFGxxx products are sent out. Blues and white on the color scale are relatively more serious and mean that it will take less rainfall to start flooding than the yellow and greens which indicate relatively drier conditions.

County-based Flash Flood Threat Graphics
The graphics below show the Flash Flood Threat for the 6 hours ending at the time indicated on the graphics. A 24-hr graphic is also provided. These are based on the comparison of OHRFC's forecast precipitation amounts (QPF) against the OHRFC's Flash Flood Guidance (FFG) values for 6 and 24 hours. Generally, as QPF approaches or exceeds the FFG, the greater the risk of Flooding or Flash Flooding. Although the computation of these graphics is objective, the interpretation of them is subjective.
