SEND US YOUR WEATHER REPORTS


If you are NOT a spotter or cooperative observer please report the following items to the National Weather Service:

  1. Any deaths or injuries associated with hazardous weather.
  2. Tornadoes, water spouts or funnel clouds.
  3. Thunderstorms accompanied by wind gusts which cause structural damage to buildings, power lines or trees.
  4. Wind Gusts during other weather situations (stormy or fair) which also cause the above damage.
  5. Hail of any size - please report the approximate size as well (pea, marble, quarter, golf ball, baseball or softball).
  6. Flooding of rivers or streams into homes or industries.
  7. Flooding of rivers, streams or poor drainage flooding which makes roadways totally impassable (please report the name of the road as well).
  8. Rivers or streams which approach bankfull.
  9. Heavy rainfall / torrential downpour criteria:
  10. During hurricanes or tropical storms only - please send event total rainfall and peak wind gust (if available).

NOTE: These reports may be used in storm summary reports and on storm accumulation maps. They will not be received in REAL-TIME and may not be looked at until well after a storm has passed. If you have a real weather emergency please call your local law enforcement agency.
