FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
302 PM EST THU NOV 20 2014

.DISCUSSION...

HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD EAST ACROSS OUR REGION TONIGHT INTO
FRIDAY BEFORE PASSING EAST SATURDAY AND OFFSHORE SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS
SHOULD ALLOW WINDS TO DIMINISH SOME OVERNIGHT ALTHOUGH HUMIDITY LEVELS
WILL ONLY SLOWLY RECOVER TO ABOVE 50 PERCENT LATER TONIGHT. DRIER AIR
SHOULD AGAIN SURGE INTO THE REGION ON FRIDAY MAKING FOR ANOTHER VERY
DRY AFTERNOON WITH HUMIDITY VALUES AGAIN DROPPING TO BELOW 25 OR 30
PERCENT ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA.

AS THE HIGH SLIPS OFF TO OUR EAST ON SUNDAY...A STRONG LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE UP THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND PUSH A
WARM FRONT THROUGH THE REGION. THIS WILL BRING A QUICK INCREASE IN
MOISTURE ALONG WITH A GOOD CHANCE FOR WETTING RAINFALL SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY
EVENING. MUCH WARMER WEATHER WILL TAKE SHAPE EARLY NEXT WEEK BEFORE A
COLD FRONT BRINGS A RETURN TO COLDER AND DRIER AIR HEADING INTO
THANKSGIVING.
