FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
403 AM EDT SAT OCT 25 2014

.DISCUSSION...

...ENHANCED FIRE DANGER A POSSIBILITY SUNDAY AFTERNOON OVER THE MOUNTAINS
AND FOOTHILLS...

EXPECT A COLD FRONT TO SLIDE SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE AREA BY LATE TONIGHT. THREAT
OF ANY WET WEATHER IS VERY LOW...WITH ONLY ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE OVER THE
MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA...DOWN INTO THE NORTH CAROLINA HIGH COUNTRY.

THEN SUNDAY...WINDS WILL PICK UP OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AND GUST OVER 25 MPH
AT TIMES. COMBINED WITH DRIER AIR COMING IN...AND THE FACT THAT RAINFALL HAS
BEEN LIMITED THE PAST WEEK...FUELS WILL DRY OUT FASTER...AND THE POTENTIAL EXISTS
FOR ENHANCED FIRE DANGER OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.

THE AIRMASS WILL BE STAYING DRY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK THOUGH THE FLOW TURNS MORE
SOUTHERLY...AHEAD OF THE NEXT FRONT TRACKING INTO THE REGION BY WEDNESDAY.
