NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG SC
313 PM EDT MON MAY 15 2006

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SENT A SURVEY TEAM TO CABARRUS COUNTY
TO INVESTIGATE DAMAGE ASSOCIATED WITH THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT
OCCURRED SUNDAY AFTERNOON, MAY 14. THE TEAM CONFIRMED THAT A TORNADO
OCCURRED AT 248 PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON TO THE NORTH OF MOUNT PLEASANT
OFF OF CLINE SCHOOL ROAD. A ROOF WAS BLOWN OFF A BARN AND NUMEROUS
TREES WERE SNAPPED OFF. THE TORNADO WAS RATED A F1 ON THE FUJITA
SCALE WITH A PATH LENTH OF ONE-QUARTER MILE AND A WIDTH OF 50 YARDS.

A TORNADO WARNING WAS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
FOR CABARRUS COUNTY AT 211 PM BASED ON DATA FROM BOTH
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AT GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG
AND THE FAA`S TERMINAL DOPPLER RADAR IN CHARLOTTE.
