The map below shows snowfall totals from the 25 January 2001 Northwest 
Flow snow event.  A winter weather advisory was issued for this event for 
Madison, Yancey, Mitchell and Avery counties in North Carolina.  While this 
type of product is not verified, it is usually issued for 1 to 2 inches of 
snow.  Thus, advisory criteria were met in all four counties, albeit on the 
low side in a couple.
