MUCH COLDER AIR. SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE

A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING
THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING. 

NORTHWEST FLOW SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE
TENNESSEE BORDER COUNTIES TUESDAY NIGHT...AS TEMPERATURES QUICKLY
DROP FOLLOWING THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT TUESDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW
SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS ON
WEDNESDAY BEFORE TAPERING OFF WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY ON NORTHWEST
FACING SLOPES AND IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW...STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS. THESE WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO
CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR DANGEROUS WIND CHILL VALUES AND BLOWING SNOW.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT
SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
