THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG SC HAS
CONFIRMED A TORNADO NEAR 4 SE GRANITE FALLS IN CALDWELL COUNTY
NORTH CAROLINA ON JANUARY 11 2012. THIS TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN
IMMEDIATELY NORTHEAST OF THE HIGHWAY 321 BRIDGE AND IMPACTED THE
NORTH SHORE OF LAKE HICKORY AND THE LAKE HICKORY MARINA. DAMAGE
INCLUDED PEELED ROOFING ON THE LAKE HICKORY MARINA...SNAPPED PINE
TREES...OVERTURNED PONTOON BOATS AND A DOCK...AS WELL AS DAMAGE
OR MOVEMENT TO OTHER OUTDOOR FURNITURE AND STRUCTURES.
