Use Your Photos To Tell A Story

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg would like to use your pictures for case studies, outreach activities, and to display on our Web site. We are especially interested in photographs that show the weather occurring or it's recent impacts. Pictures that have a reference to scale (ex. A person standing in deep snow or a hail stone on a ruler) are very useful.

You can send your photos in almost any file type. However, we would prefer if the files are sent in .jpg format and in high resolution (at least 300 dots per inch). Send your photos to and Please include the following in your email:

  • Your Name
  • Location
  • Time of the event

  • We are also looking for pictures from the following events:

  • June 10-12, 2006: Severe Thunderstorm Outbreak
  • June 24-27, 2006: Heavy rain and flooding in Pickens, Henderson, and Rutherford Counties.
