LARGE AREA OF MOSTLY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. DOPPLER 
RADAR AND OBSERVATIONS INDICATE AS MUCH AS TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF 
RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS THE AREA DURING THE PAST 18 HOURS. 

ANOTHER SLUG OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS ABOUT TO MOVE ACROSS THE 
AREA...THIS WILL LIKELY CAUSE SIGNIFICANT PONDING OR WATER...WITH

BEGUN TO RECEDE. FIRE AND RESCUE OFFICIALS HAVE REPORTED THAT 
NUMEROUS THOROUGHFARES IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN...INCLUDING 
HIGHWAYS 17...701...AND 521...REMAIN CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER.  
DISPATCHERS ALSO HAVE REPORTED FLOODING OF SECONDARY ROADS IN RURAL 
GEORGETOWN COUNTY.  WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY DISPATCHERS HAVE REPORTED 
THAT HIGHWAY 41 NEAR HEMINGWAY...AND SECONDARY ROAD 24 NEAR 
NESMITH...ARE IMPASSABLE DUE TO HIGH WATER.  

MANY LOCATIONS IN GEORGETOWN COUNTY HAVE RECEIVED BETWEEN 9 AND 12 
INCHES OF RAINFALL SINCE WEDNESDAY.  FLOOD WATERS WILL RECEDE

ACROSS NEW HANOVER...EASTERN BRUNSWICK...AND PORTIONS OF PENDER 
COUNTY. RAINFALL RATES WERE INCREASING TO AROUND A HALF INCH PER 
HOUR. THE SHOWERS PRODUCING THE HEAVY RAINFALL WERE MOVING NORTH AT 
AROUND 30 MPH.

RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINFALL EXTENDING AT LEAST 100 MILES OFFSHORE 
WHICH WAS MOVING TOWARD THE COAST. AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES

COUNTIES UNTIL 4 AM...

AT 130 AM...RADAR INDICATED WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINFALL COVERING 
EASTERN BRUNSWICK COUNTY...AND PORTIONS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY. 
RAINFALL RATES OF AROUND ONE INCH PER HOUR WERE OBSERVED IN THE 
BOILING SPRING LAKES AND WINNABOW VICINITY. THE SHOWERS PRODUCING 
THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WERE MOVING NORTH AT AROUND 30 MPH.

RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAINFALL EXTENDS AT LEAST 100 MILES OFF THE 
COAST AND WAS MOVING ONSHORE. AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES OF 
RAIN IS EXPECTED BETWEEN NOW AND 4 AM ACROSS THE CAPE FEAR REGION. 
WITH SOILS ALREADY SATURATED...THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RUN OFF 
AND CREATE ADDITIONAL FLOODING PROBLEMS. 

FLOODING IS MOST LIKELY TO DEVELOP ACROSS EASTERN BRUNSWICK COUNTY 
FROM LONG BEACH...WINNABOW AND BOILING SPRING LAKES...NORTH ALONG 
STATE HIGHWAY 133 INTO THE WILMINGTON AND CASTLE HAYNE AREAS. 
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL DEVELOPING IN PENDER COUNTY COULD CAUSE 
FLOODING TO REDEVELOP IN THE ROCKY POINT VICINITY.

MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IF TRAVELING TONIGHT. 
FLOODED ROADWAYS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. DO NOT
