The most snow that fell on Christmas Day was a trace of snow in both 1948 and 1999. The highest snow depth on Christmas Day was 13 inches in 1989. The most precipitation that fell on Christmas Day was 2.26 inches in 2006. The records in Wilmington have been kept since 1874.
