Maps depict areas that may be inundated by category 1, 3, and 5 hurricanes. However, the maps are derived from several different storm tracks and forward speeds. The fact that an area is shown as inundated does not mean that it will be for every storm of the category, it simply means there is a scenario under which the area could be inundated by a hurricane of a the shown category.
