As of September 14, 2007, the elevation of East Fork
Lake was 726.6 feet. This is nearly 7 feet below the average summer level
of 733 feet.
Southern Ohio continues to be plagued with
much-below average rainfall for most of 2007. Currently, the
U.S. Drought
Monitor has classified much of the southern half of Ohio as D1 and D2, or moderate
and severe drought respectively.
Portions of far southern Ohio, including portions of Ross County, have
been classified as D3, or extreme drought. D3 conditions extend
southward into parts of northern Kentucky.
