Additional notes
Similar to deciduous trees, these soybean plants
are showing drought stress by the browning and shedding of their leaves.
Southern Ohio continues to be plagued with
much-below average rainfall for most of 2007. Currently, the
U.S. Drought
Monitor has classified much of Ohio as D1, or moderate drought.
Portions of far southern Ohio, including portions of Clermont County, have been
classified as D2, or severe drought. D2 conditions extend
southward into parts of northern Kentucky.
