Additional notes
The very low water levels of Paint Creek place it below the 20th
percentile. Downstream at Bourneville (about 10 miles past
Bainbridge), average stream flow is about 1000 cubic feet per second.
Current readings are around 20 cubic feet per second.
Southern Ohio continues to be plagued with
much-below average rainfall for most of 2007. Currently, the
U.S. Drought
Monitor has classified much of the southern half of Ohio as D1 and D2, or moderate
and severe drought respectively.
Portions of far southern Ohio, including portions of Ross County, have
been classified as D3, or extreme drought. D3 conditions extend
southward into parts of northern Kentucky.
