Widespread wind damage occurred across the Ohio
Valley when a thin line of thunderstorms raced across the region.
These storms were not particularly strong, however winds just a few
thousand feet were very high (60-80 mph). The downdrafts in the
thunderstorms were able to mix these strong winds down to the surface,
with widespread reports of 50-65 mph winds across the Ohio Valley.
