Additional notes
A late-season winter storm brought up
to an inch of ice accumulation to northern portions of the Miami Valley
on March 4, 2008, as Ohio voters went to the polls for the presidential
primary. Several hours of light freezing rain allowed significant
ice accumulation north of I-70, while areas further south stayed above
freezing and received little if any ice.

Ice Storm Warning (for ice accumulation >1/4")
Safety Note: Ice accumulation on trees will cause branches
to fall, which can lead to injury or death. In addition, trees
falling on power lines (and sometimes the weight of the ice alone) can
cause hot lines to fall and lead to electrocution. Always avoid
large trees and power lines during an ice storm. This is another
reason not to be on the road during an ice storm.
