...SUMMARY OF THE ABNORMALLY WET SPRING...

PERSISTENT UPPER LEVEL TROUGHING OVER THE EASTERN UNITED STATES
LEAD TO AN ACTIVE STORM TRACK OVER THE OHIO VALLEY THIS SPRING AND
COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL. ALL THREE MONTHS (MARCH/APRIL/MAY) OF
METEOROLOGICAL SPRING RECORDED ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL AT THE THREE
AREA CLIMATE STATIONS. APRIL WAS BY FAR THE RAINIEST MONTH. MAY
RAINFALL TOTALS WERE APPROXIMATELY TWO INCHES ABOVE NORMAL...WHILE
MARCH WAS ONLY SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL. THANKS TO THE EXTREMELY HIGH
RECORD APRIL RAINFALL...CINCINNATI HAS SET THE WETTEST SPRING
ON RECORD. COLUMBUS AND DAYTON RANKED THIRD WETTEST. THE FOLLOWING
ARE LISTINGS OF THE HIGHEST SPRING RAINFALL TOTALS ACROSS THE
AREA.
