ACROSS A BROAD AREA IN OHIO EXTENDING FROM WAPAKONETA TO 
PORTSMOUTH...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS EXCEEDING 6 INCHES WITHIN 
THIS AREA.

BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH 454 PM EDT FRI MAY 18 2001 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... ROSS COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST OHIO... * UNTIL 700 PM EDT... * HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES ACROSS ROSS COUNTY THIS EVENING. AS MUCH AS 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN TODAY ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTY. AN ADDITIONAL INCH IS POSSIBLE THIS EVENING. THEREFORE THE WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED FOR ROSS COUNTY. NUMEROUS ROADS ARE CLOSED ACROSS THE COUNTY. THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THE EXISTING FLOODING. * SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING AREA INCLUDE... BAINBRIDGE... CHILLICOTHE... FRANKFORT... A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. ISSUANCE NUMBER 10 RIVER FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON, OH 1134 PM EDT FRI MAY 18 2001 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A RIVER FLOOD WARNING FOR THE SCIOTO RIVER AT CIRCLEVILLE. FOR THE SCIOTO RIVER NEAR CIRCLEVILLE, THE LATEST STAGE IS 13.6 FEET AT 11 PM FRIDAY. THE STAGE IS EXPECTED CLIMB TO ABOVE FLOOD STAGE (14.0 FEET) BY 1 AM. MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST, WITH THE RIVER EXPECTED TO CREST NEAR 15.5 FEET AROUND 2 PM SATURDAY. AT STAGES NEAR 15.5 FEET, LOWLAND FLOODING CONTINUES...WHILE FLOODING BEGINS ALONG ISLAND ROAD. CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE LEVEL WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE AROUND 12 PM SUNDAY. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE DEEPER THAN IT APPEARS.
