PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH
332 PM EDT MON JUN 14 2004

...TORNADO CONFIRMED IN SOUTHEASTERN LICKING COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS DETERMINED THAT
DAMAGE IN SOUTHEASTERN LICKING COUNTY...NEAR BROWNSVILLE...IS THE
RESULT OF A TORNADO. THE TORNADO OCCURRED AROUND 1215 AM THIS
MORNING.

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY HAS DETERMINED THAT THE PATH
LENGTH WAS ABOUT 2 MILES WITH A PATH OF MAXIMUM DAMAGE OF ABOUT
75 YARDS. THE ESTIMATED PATH WIDTH WAS 75 YARDS WIDE. THE DAMAGE
SURVEYED INDICATES THAT THE TORNADO STRENGTH WAS IN THE LOW END OF
THE F1 CATEGORY ON THE FUJITA SCALE. THE WINDS IN THE F1 CATEGORY
RANGE FROM 73 MPH TO 112 MPH.
