EYEWITNESSES...IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A BRIEF AND WEAK TORNADO
TOUCHED DOWN IN AN OPEN FIELD 2 MILES WEST OF GREENVILLE NEAR
STATE HIGHWAY 502. 

SINCE THIS TORNADO OCCURRED IN AN OPEN FIELD...NO CROP OR
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS REPORTED.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR KINGSTON IN ROSS COUNTY OHIO ON AUGUST 20TH 2009.

BASED UPON INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM EYEWITNESSES...IT WAS
DETERMINED THAT A BRIEF AND WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ALONG DRY
RUN ROAD ABOUT ONE MILE SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF KINGSTON...AND ABOUT
ONE MILE NORTH OF STATE ROUTE 180. THE TORNADO ENTERED A CORN
FIELD AND TRAVELED A SHORT DISTANCE BEFORE LIFTING.

WHILE MINOR CROP DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE CORN FIELD ADJACENT TO DRY
RUN ROAD...THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO REPORT.

EF3...WIND SPEEDS 136 TO 165 MPH.
EF4...WIND SPEEDS 166 TO 200 MPH.
EF5...WIND SPEEDS GREATER THAN 200 MPH.
