THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR COMMERICIAL POINT IN PICKAWAY COUNTY OHIO ON OCTOBER
26 2010.

A DAMAGE SURVEY BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS
FOUND THAT A BRIEF WEAK TORNADO LIKELY TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 3 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF COMMERCIAL POINT IN RURAL PICKAWAY COUNTY. THE
TORNADO APPEARS TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN NEAR GULLICK ROAD WHERE A
SMALL OUTBUILDING WAS DESTROYED WITH DEBRIS STREWN ACROSS GULLICK
ROAD INTO ADJACENT FIELDS. THE TORNADO THEN HIT SEVERAL BARNS AND
OUTBUILDINGS ON MATVILLE ROAD WHERE ONE BUILDING WAS DESTROYED AND
SIGNIFICANT ROOFING WAS TORN OFF ANOTHER. THE TORNADO MAY HAVE
BRIEFLY LIFTED BUT APPEARS TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN AS IT
CROSSED HUDSON ROAD WHERE MORE DEBRIS FROM A HEAVILY DAMAGED BARN
WAS STREWN ACROSS HUDSON ROAD INTO ADJACENT FIELDS. THE TORNADO
APPEARS TO HAVE LIFTED BEFORE REACHING GRAHAM ROAD. SMALL DEBRIS
WAS NOTED SCATTERED IN THE FIELDS ON THE WEST SIDE OF GRAHAM ROAD.

THIS AREA OF DAMAGE WAS CORROBORATED BY A VERY STRONG ROTATION
SIGNAL ON THE FAA TERMINAL DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR LOCATED JUST WEST
OF PATASKALA OHIO.

THE DAMAGE IS CONSISTENT WITH WIND SPEEDS NEAR 85 MPH...A HIGH-END
EF0 TORNADO ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE.

FOR REFERENCE...THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO
THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

EF0...WIND SPEEDS 65 TO 85 MPH.
EF1...WIND SPEEDS 86 TO 110 MPH.
EF2...WIND SPEEDS 111 TO 135 MPH.
EF3...WIND SPEEDS 136 TO 165 MPH.
EF4...WIND SPEEDS 166 TO 200 MPH.
EF5...WIND SPEEDS GREATER THAN 200 MPH.
