...STORM SURVEY COMPLETED NEAR FIVE POINTS IN PICKAWAY COUNTY OHIO...

A DAMAGE SURVEY BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE FIVE POINTS
AREA OF PICKAWAY COUNTY OHIO FOUND THAT DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE
WINDS LIKELY WERE THE REASON FOR THE AREA OF DAMAGE NEAR FIVE
POINTS. DAMAGE CONSISTED OF 6 ELECTRICAL POLES SNAPPED
OFF...SEVERAL SMALL OUTBUILDINGS HEAVILY DAMAGED...AND TREE
DAMAGE. ANALYSIS OF THE DEBRIS AND RADAR IMAGERY AS WELL AS
DISCUSSIONS WITH RESIDENTS IN THE AREA SUGGESTS THE LIKELY CAUSE
WAS STRAIGHT LINE WINDS AROUND 70 MPH. THESE WINDS SWEPT THROUGH
THE FIVE POINTS AREA AT APPROXIMATELY 144 PM.
