Fire
News
February 10, 2003
Welcome back for another season of fire weather. The new season,
with a few improvements and upgrades will begin on February 15,
2003! Here's what is new this year:
1) Spot forecasts will
now be available over the internet. This process will allow spot
forecasts to be tailor made to the data you need. Also, it will
expedite the process by depositing your request right to the forecaster
that will construct it for you, on the workstation that they will use to
create it. The link is on our main fire weather web page, with a
link to instructions directly beside it. This should make the spot
forecast process easier for all involved.
2) A new fire weather
operating plan for 2003 has been printed and distributed to our
largest user groups. You can download a copy off of our fire weather
page. There is a link for both Microsoft Word (tm) format and also
Adobe (tm) .PDF format.
3) There is a new link on our
fire web page for archived RAWS data. This site contains all
RAWS data that has ever been transmitted. There are also some
interesting graphs and wind roses you can make thru this page. It is
still under development, and some of the links are not yet up.
It has been a wonderful experience working with you all over the past
several years. Here's to a exceptional season of fire
supression!
