Description of WRF-EMS Model at LWX

Information about the WRF-EMS modeling package
General information about the WRF Model

Run Times:
The model is run every 6th hour to a forecast time of 60 hours. The table below describes model start times and which files are used for each model run:

Initialization Time
Start Time
Initialization (GFS)
Boundary Conditions (GFS)
Web Post Time
18Z (6hr fcst)

The model is run on an 4 CPU 32 bit Linux server (2.6 GHZ). Total system memory is 1.5GB. The model domain is 90x146 with a resolution of 12 km.

Post processing is completed on an additional dual processor Linux PC (2.6 GHZ) for display of model information on AWIPS.
