Skywarn™ Training Classes

Skywarn logo  People are required to pre-register for all classes. This is necessary to control class size and provide the proper amount of handouts. Classes have a limited amount of space. If you register for a class and can not make it, please notify us so we can make your spot available to someone else. Upcoming classes are announced on this page and on NOAA Weather Radio. All training classes and Skywarn™ membership are free.  Registration procedures are listed  below.

Due to security concerns following 9-11, Skywarn™ Basics 1 classes will not be offered at the NWS Sterling facility.   Therefore, NWS Sterling Office is looking for organizations to host Skywarn™ training.  We need a free site that can accommodate up to at least 40 people and have the ability for audio visual equipment.  We will open the training class up to the public and will help advertise the class. We need at least 20 people registered to hold the class, but ideally would like to have over 30.  If you can help with such arrangements, please e-mail: Nikole.winstead.listemaa@noaa.gov
