Gridded Flash Flood Guidance (8/17/2009) - Flash flood guidance values for the 1, 3, and 6 hour lengths are now available in a gridded format with values computed on a 4km by 4km grid. Finer scale variations due to terrain, urbanized areas, and uneven rainfall patterns are taken into account. Please take a look.
MPE Fact Sheet (7/29/2009) - This file contains some frequently asked questions about multisensor precipitation estimation (MPE).
New Flood Frequency & Climatology Feature (updated 7/8/2009) - A new section has been added to our Flood Frequency/Climatology page. We now have a list of floods by event covering the period 1692-2009. All of the event summaries will ultimately include a summary of the weather conditions that lead up to the flood.
10th Anniversary of Hurricane Floyd - This September marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Floyd. A map showing the extent of the flooding can be found on this page, hosted by the NWS Weather Forecast Office, Newport/Morehead City, NC.
