Tornado Associated with Hurricane Jeanne Remnants
September 27, 2004
There was a weak tornado in Martin County on the evening of September 27th. The storm that spawned the tornado was well out ahead of the center of circulation of the remnants of Hurricane Jeanne in the northeast quadrant of the storm. This region of the storm experiences enahnced wind shear, conducive to spawning tornadoes. This tornado was weak, with a short very short track.

SEVERAL BUILDINGS ON THE PROPERTY WERE DAMAGED INCLUDING SEVERAL GRAIN BINS, 4 TOBACCO BARNS, AND 2 PEANUT DRYING SHELTERS. DAMAGE OCCURRED ON EDMONDSON ROAD.
