Weather Photos of the Month

Weather enthusaists always appreciate seeing new and exciting weather photos. Your local National Weather Service meteorologists are no exception. NWS Newport/Morehead City is looking for photos that capture the scenery and weather throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Become a "Shutterbug Spotter" by sending us your favorite weather photos. Examples of weather photos include clouds, landscape, fog, flooding, hail, snow, lightning, tornadoes, waves, and other weather related events. Every month, we will choose 3 of the best photos to be displayed on our local webpage!

Please note that numerous photos may be submitted each month, if your photo is not one of the top 3 finalists for that month, it will be kept and added to the pool of photos for the next 2 months. In addition, we may find other uses for your photos, including special weather features or presentations to local classrooms. Nonetheless, you will receive full credit for any submitted photos!

Photo Submissions

Email your photo to wxobs.mhx@noaa.gov. Make sure you put "Shutterbug Spotters" in the email subject, and please include the location, date, time, and who to give credit to in the body of the email. In addition, please provide permission in the email that states we can use your photo. Please try to keep emailed photos under 3 MB.
