HAS Unit Web Page

This is the HAS section of the Ohio River Forecast Center's web site.  HAS is an acronym for Hydrometeorological Analysis and Support.  The basic functions of a HAS meteorologist or hydrologist is to provide support for RFC operations.  This includes, but is not limited to, quality control of incoming weather data, precipitation and temperature forecasts as they relate to river flow, giving weather briefings to the RFC staff, and generation of graphics which summarizes various data.  It is these graphics which are shown in child pages.

To implement an easier, more organized HAS Support Page, we have broken the graphical images and information into several different categories for your selection.  These categories are Forecast Data, which includes QPF information, Observed Data, which includes observed precipitation and river stage data, Ground Conditions, which includes snow depth, soil moisture, and snow water equivalent values, Flash Flood Guidance, which includes 1-, 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour flash flood guidance values, and Forecast Comparison, which shows HAS's and WPC's forecasts and their Absolute Errors.  For a textual summary of the hydrometeorological conditions, take a look at the Hydrometeorological Discussion
