MILD AS 6 TEMPERATURES RECORDS WERE EITHER TIED OR BROKEN...BETWEEN JAN
2ND AND JAN 5TH. THE RECORDS WERE AS FOLLOWS...JAN 2ND TIED RECORD HIGH
LOW OF 47...ON JAN 3RD SET NEW RECORD HIGH LOW OF 54 DEGREES AND TIED
RECORD HIGH MEAN OF 57 DEGREES...ON THE 4TH SET NEW RECORD HIGH LOW
OF 52 DEGREES AND NEW RECORD HIGH MEAN OF 59 DEGREES...AND FINALLY
ON THE 5TH NEW RECORD HIGH WAS SET OF 66 DEGREES. INTO THE MIDDLE OF
THE MONTH JANUARY BEGAN TO FEEL MORE LIKE JANUARY WHEN LOWS DROPPED
INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND HIGHS CLIMBED ONLY INTO THE TEENS BETWEEN
THE 11TH AND 13TH. ANOTHER COLD SNAP WHICH WAS THE COLDEST OF THE
MONTH OCCURRED BETWEEN THE 16TH AND 19TH WHEN TEMPERATURES DIPPED TO
1 BELOW ZERO TWICE ON THE 17TH AND 19TH AND HIGHS REMAINED MAINLY IN
THE SINGLE DIGITS DURING THIS PERIOD. THE REST OF THE MONTH FINISHED
MILD.
 
THE MONTH WAS DRY AS PRECIPITATION WAS ALMOST AN INCH BELOW NORMAL...
AND SNOWFALL WAS RATHER SPARCE ALSO WITH A MONTHLY TOTAL OF 3.8 INCHES.
