SNOW COVER PICTURE FROM APRIL 1 1997
This first is of the snowfall event of March 31/April 1, 1997. This is a visual satellite picture from the next day. The interesting feature is the brightness on the picture where the snowcover was deepest in northwest New Jersey and in Chester county Pennsylvania. Also, the sharp back edge in Lancaster county was very evident by the verified snowfall amounts rising rapidly from 3 inches in central Lancaster county to 18 inches in the town of Christiana which is in extreme eastern Lancaster county near Chester county.
