Atmospheric Favorability for Severe Weather

Based on NWS Model Guidance (WRF, Workstation Eta, and RUC)
The Atmospheric Favorability for Severe Weather images (AFS) are based on model data, showing the areas most and least favorable to support strong thunderstorm development. The Derived Precipitation Probability Index (DPI) images are derived directly from short term models run at WFO RLX and are QPF based. DPI shows areas most and least favorable for measurable precipitation based on the models.
