  • Temperatures are degrees F, precipitation is inches of liquid. All normals are based on the period 1971-2000.
  • RH Year=Year of record high, RH Low=Year of record low. Temperature records for Elkins began in 1899.
  • HDD=Heating degree days, CDD=Cooling degree days
  • An asterisk (*) after the year of occurrence of record highs and lows indicates the record was reached more than once, with the indicated year being the most recent.
  • Daily normal precipitation values are more appropriate for calculating normals over a period of at least several days, rather than on a strict day-to-day basis.
