Send us storm reports! We are always open to receiving reports of severe weather from the public...whether it is hail, wind damage, flooding, or another hazard. These reports are extremely important! We use them to verify the effectiveness of our warnings, and the media are also very interested in them. We have a new email address, specifically set up for the public to report severe weather. It is: rlx.storm@noaa.gov. We would appreciate a message to this address whenever you observe any of the following:
Also, feel free to include any digital photographs that you may have taken! If we eventually use your picture in a web page or a written publication, you will be credited. In your message, please include any details that you think are relevent to the situation. We would appreciate it if you include a telephone number at which you can be reached, in case we have any questions. Your phone number will NEVER leave the office and not be used for any other purpose. Also, please note that this email address is for severe weather reports ONLY. All other questions should be sent to our normal email address: rlx.webmaster@noaa.gov Although we may reply to your email with a request for more information, normally we would not reply to your message. Another option is to use our phone-based reporting system. Details can be found here. In the future, we hope to introduce an online form to streamline the reporting process. Don't forget...the address is rlx.storm@noaa.gov! Thank you in advance for your reports!
