• There are several features in the atmosphere that resemble tornadoes. It is important that if you witness something that looks like a tornado to take a few seconds to assess the feature.

• Ask yourself this question “is this feature rotating about a vertical axis”? If it is not, then it is NOT a tornado or funnel cloud.
