FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
410 AM EDT FRI AUG 1 2014

.DISCUSSION...
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ALONG THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS WILL TRACK
NORTH ALONG THE BLUE RIDGE TODAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL KEEP LIGHT TO
MODERATE RAIN OVER THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH MUCH OF TODAY. A
BERMUDA HIGH WAS LOCATED AND WILL REMAIN IN THE WESTERN ATLANTIC
AND AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY THROUGH THE
WEEKEND. BEING IN BETWEEN THESE TWO SYSTEMS...THE REGION'S WEATHER
WILL REMAIN UNSETTLED WITH A CONTINUING CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. BY MONDAY...WEAK HIGH
PRESSURE COULD BRING DRIER CONDITIONS FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK.
