FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
1151 PM EDT SUN MAR 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...

A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA FROM THE NORTHWEST OVERNIGHT BEFORE
PASSING ACROSS THE REGION MONDAY MORNING. SOUTHWEST FLOW AHEAD OF THE FRONT
WILL ALLOW FOR AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE LEVELS ESPECIALLY AFTER MIDNIGHT WHEN
CLOUDS AND SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO PUSH ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS. HOWEVER WETTING
RAINFALL FROM THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BE LIMITED WITH UP TO A TENTH
OF AN INCH POSSIBLE ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS. RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE LESS EAST
OF THE BLUE RIDGE WHERE ONLY SPOTTY SPRINKLES OR BRIEF SHOWERS APPEAR LIKELY.
STRONG WEST NORTHWEST WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED BEHIND THE FRONT MONDAY AFTERNOON.
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN FOR MIDWEEK. THE NEXT SIGNIFICANT CHANCE OF WETTING
RAIN WILL BE TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK AS A STRONG COLD FRONT APPROACHES.
