FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
507 AM EDT SUN MAR 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...

...LOW HUMIDITY IS EXPECTED TODAY...

WIND SPEEDS WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH THIS MORNING AS DRY HIGH
PRESSURE...CENTERED OVER THE CENTRAL OHIO VALLEY...WILL SHIFT
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA TODAY. AS THE CENTER OF THE HIGH SHIFTS
OVER THE SOUTHEAST STATES DURING LATE AFTERNOON...WINDS ACROSS
THE MID ATLANTIC WILL BECOME SOUTHWESTERLY. THE PASSAGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE OVERHEAD WILL KEEP WIND SPEEDS LIGHT THROUGH THE DAY...
HOWEVER THE DRY AIRMASS AND ABUNDANT SUNSHINE WILL CAUSE RH
VALUES TO BOTTOM OUT IN THE LOW TO MID TEENS AREAWIDE AS HIGH
TEMPERATURES REACH THE UPPER 40S TO LOW 50S MOST LOCATIONS.

WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE LATE THIS EVENING AS A COLD FRONT
APPROACHES THE AREA. THE FRONT WILL PUSH ACROSS EARLY MONDAY...
TRIGGERING UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF SPOTTY WETTING RAINFALL.
STRONG WEST NORTHWEST WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED BEHIND THE FRONT
MONDAY AFTERNOON. THE NEXT SIGNIFICANT CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN
WILL BE TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK AS A STRONG COLD FRONT
APPROACHES.
