FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SW VA...SE WV AND NW NC
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BLACKSBURG VA
255 PM EDT FRI MAR 27 2015

.DISCUSSION...

A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE EAST ACROSS THE REGION
TONIGHT BRINGING ADDITIONAL RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ESPECIALLY ACROSS
THE MOUNTAINS. COLD HIGH PRESSURE FOLLOWS THIS SYSTEM FOR SATURDAY
AND SATURDAY NIGHT RESULTING IN VERY DRY AIR ALONG WITH GUSTY
NORTHWEST WINDS INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE HIGH WILL SINK SOUTH
OF THE REGION SUNDAY AHEAD OF ANOTHER FAST MOVING COLD FRONT THAT
SHOULD CROSS THE AREA EARLY MONDAY. WESTERLY WINDS QUICKLY INCREASE
AHEAD OF THE BOUNDARY SUNDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE BEHIND THE FRONT
MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE OVERNIGHT. A BAND OF SHOWERS SHOULD ALSO
ACCOMPANY THE FRONT BUT AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT. DRY AIR
RETURNS AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN BEHIND THE FRONT TUESDAY INTO
THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK.
